Onslow Park Tennis Club Head coach Matt Bull has become one of only three Master Club Professional tennis coaches in WA, along with Geraldton’s Colin Thompson and Ian Ketteringham from Alexander Park Tennis Club.

Matt was awarded his latest qualification at a ceremony in Melbourne. Tennis Australia’s Master Club Professional course is a nationally recognised diploma run in partnership with Deakin University.

It aims to empower tennis coaches to become more effective managers and influential leaders.

Matt was commended on his achievement by Andrea Buckeridge, Manager of Education at Tennis Australia, who said “By completing this qualification, Matt joins a select group of Master Club Professional coaches who are professionally leading their coaching teams to grow tennis in their local communities.”

Matt is already putting some of his learning into practice at Onslow Park, with initiatives designed to increase opportunities for people to play.

He is now offering drop-in coaching and drill sessions for adults who want to be able to turn up whenever it suits them rather than committing to regular lessons.

Matt also recently tried a full day holiday camp for kids in addition to his usual morning camps.
