MY TENNIS BIG SISTER!
Calling all our young East Freo girls! EFLTC Junior Coach Ellie is running a fun mentoring session for girls in tennis on Sunday, 6th October at 2pm-3:30pm at EFLTC!
It’s no secret there is a lack of older girls playing tennis, so who are the younger girls supposed to look up to? My Tennis Big Sister is a mentoring program run by Ellie and some older girls who are currently playing a high level of tennis as well as coaching, for younger girls in tennis. The day is also a great opportunity for the girls to make new like minded friends whilst enjoying some afternoon tea, playing some tennis and other games but most of all having FUN!
The cost is $20 (cash payable on the day) and afternoon tea is provided.
RSVP IS ESSENTIAL on 0401 707 823 by Wednesday, 2nd October 2024. Please include in your RSVP any allergies, age and first/last name.
How the day will run…
1:55pm – Participants will arrive being marked off the roll and pay the fee of $20 (which goes towards the mentors time, food, drink, The women and girls emergency centre charity and equipment for future mentoring days.)
2pm – The day will begin with the mentors introducing themselves to the participants and a little about their experience with tennis and why they love the sport.
2:10pm - Participants will then move onto some non-tennis related games so that the girls can feel more comfortable and get to know each other a little bit.
2:25pm – Afternoon tea will be served so the girls can have something to eat and have a chat to make some new friends and meet some new likeminded people.
2:45pm - Participants will be split into groups and a group a mentor will be assigned. The questions can be from “what you do if someone does a dodgy line call?” To “What is a forehand.” No question is a silly question and there will be a wide range of abilities.
3:00pm – To finish the day off groups will be re-shuffled based on ability and play some fun tennis games.
3:30pm – Closing off of mentoring session
